An Invisalign consultation is a conversation and an assessment, not a sales appointment. Here is what actually happens when you come in, and what you leave with.
What happens at an Invisalign consultation?
We talk through what you would like to change, assess your teeth, gums and bite, take a 3D iTero scan and show you a simulation of your likely result. You then receive the options that apply to your case and a written estimate, and there is no obligation to proceed.
How long does the appointment take?
Allow enough time for a conversation, an assessment and a scan rather than a quick look. Reception will tell you the appointment length when you book so you can plan your day.
What is the 3D iTero scan?
The iTero scanner takes a digital 3D record of your teeth using a small handheld wand, so there is no impression putty. That scan is what your treatment plan and your simulation are built from.
What does the smile simulation show?
The simulation is a projection based on your scan that helps you picture how tooth positions could change. It is a planning tool rather than a promise, and your dentist will explain what is realistic in your case.
How is suitability decided?
Your dentist checks the health of your teeth and gums and how your bite works before recommending anything. If aligners are not the best way to get what you want, or if something needs treating first, you will be told that at the consultation.
What do you leave with?
You leave knowing whether Invisalign suits your case, roughly how long treatment would take, what is included, and the fee — in writing. Nothing starts on the day unless you ask it to.
Do you have to pay for the consultation?
Your Invisalign consultation at Cobham Dental is free and includes the 3D iTero scan and smile simulation. If you book an appointment online, the booking journey shows any deposit that applies and exactly how it is treated before you confirm.
